Henryk Adamczyk is self-taught and he’s the only member of his family specialising in sculptures. He began his adventure in 1974. His work focuses on people, their work in the fields, village life. He carves figures that are often dressed in regional costumes from Łęczyca. His works also include representations of crafts and rituals. Henryk pays special attention to the figure of Borutta. Referring to the legends from the Łęczyca region, he carves Boruta, peasants, noblemen, members of the court, miners – they are all subjects of his vibrant tales. He is a member of Folk Artists’ Association.
