pottery and ceramics

Hungary

Ferenc Fazekas lives and works in the little town of Nadudvar, 200 km away from Budapest, a place famous for black ceramics.  Records show that potters were active here as early as the 18th century. Ferenc has learned his craft from his father. Their family has been practising the traditions for over 80 years. Fazekas runs pottery workshops. He is a member of the Association of Folk Artists of Hungary and has won many awards and distinctions.  In 2016, he received the title of Hungarian Folk Art Master.
